Since 1939, Sherwood Inn has developed a reputation as Muskoka’s premier dining destination. Boasting an impressive wine list and a fresh, locally-sourced menu prepared with care, Vintages Dining Room at Sherwood Inn delivers an unparalleled culinary experience.


Our extensive wine cellar has won multiple Wine Spectator Awards of Excellence. We focus on purchasing our wine through consignment agents who specialize in finding small family owned producers from around the world; this allows us to offer an experience that cannot be found at the LCBO.

Winter Hours
Mid-October through mid-May we are open Fridays for lunch through Sunday breakfast to the public and resort guests. Reservations are recommended for lunch and dinner menus.

Meet Chef Gomes

With over 15 years of experience preparing culinary delights globally, Chef Gomes is no stranger in a kitchen. Born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Chef Gomes started honing his culinary skills at a young age under his father's guidance, who was also a chef. As Chef Gomes puts it, "my entire family is in the culinary industry; my father, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law... I've been fortunate to be surrounded by many talented chefs all my life, and the passion runs in my family."

Over the past 15 years, Chef Gomes has worked in various places worldwide, including Dubai, Djibouti (Africa), and Bermuda. This exposure to diverse cuisines has given Chef Gomes a unique perspective on the culinary arts. He takes pride in preparing fusion-style dishes that draw inspiration from his global experiences. Additionally, Chef Gomes has a keen interest in traditional French, Indian, and Italian dishes.

At Sherwood Inn, Chef Gomes uses fresh and local ingredients as much as possible. From creating seasonal delights using local Muskoka maple syrup, to sourcing fresh cranberries from Muskoka Lakes Farm and Winery just down the road. Regardless of the season, you can always expect to find many delicious and locally inspired items on Chef Gomes' menu here at Sherwood Inn.


We are justifiably proud of our wine cellar that boasts more than 2,000 bottles.  We have won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for our wine list, numerous years, which features in excess of 200 exquisite selections. We specialize in vintages from Australia, California, Italy and the Bordeaux region of France.

For a special treat, enjoy an intimate private party in our Cellar Dining Room, adjacent to the wine cellar. (Up to 14 people, reservation required. Private dining charges apply). Our chef and food and beverage team excel at planning, preparing and serving customized multiple-course food and wine pairings.

Vintages’ 2,000 bottle wine cellar sets it apart from other Muskoka restaurants. With over 200 exquisite vintages from all the top wine regions of the world, few Muskoka resorts offer the extensive selection of fine wines we have available. Our Cellar Dining Room, an intimate space adjacent to our wine cellar, is available for private functions up to 14 people. To make your private dinner party, reception, or executive gathering in the Cellar Room a truly memorable event, our food and beverage team can customize a multi-course menu with wine pairings.
