Since 1939, Sherwood Inn has developed a reputation as Muskoka’s premier dining destination. Boasting an impressive wine list and a fresh, locally-sourced menu prepared with care, Vintages Dining Room at Sherwood Inn delivers an unparalleled culinary experience. Our extensive wine cellar has won multiple Wine Spectator Awards of Excellence, and many of our ingredients are sourced directly from our on-site gardens. MEET OUR EXECUTIVE CHEF

Born and raised in northern Ontario, Chef Everett is no stranger to fresh local food. Spending summers on his grandfather’s farm he gained a respect and passion for food and farming - which is where he discovered his love for the culinary arts. Driven by a passion for the outdoors and sourcing local ingredients, Chef Everett strives to use the freshest local ingredients available during each season.


Chef Everett began working as a dishwasher at age 14 and was cooking by age 15. His passion for food started early as he excelled in the kitchen and was soon making everything on the menu. This inspired Chef Everett to attend culinary school at Canadore College in North Bay, Ont. Upon graduating with a Culinary Management diploma, he began working at the Grandview Resort in Huntsville under the guidance of Executive Chef Ken Schulz - eventually achieving his Red Seal certification in 2009. Since then Chef Everett has grown to oversee the culinary operations at both The Lake Joseph Club and Sherwood Inn.

Chef Michael Schulz started his culinary journey earlier than most, showing at a young age a love for cooking and baking. Following in his father’s footsteps, Michael got his first kitchen job at the age of 13 as a dishwasher. By the age of 14 he was out of the pit and on the line. From there he worked to prove himself and was signed on as an apprentice.
 

Michael attended George Brown culinary school in the summer of 2013 and Humber North the following winter. To complete his apprenticeship Michael was then hired on as a Chef De Partie at Rocky Crest Resort under the guidance of his Farther, Executive Chef Ken Schulz. After 5 years at Rocky Crest Michael has worked his way up to Sous Chef overseeing the Windows Steak House and Bayside Pub.
 

Since then Michael has held the Sous Chef position at both Grandview Golf Club and most recently at Sherwood Inn working under Executive Chef José Caneira. In January 2022 Michael accepted the opportunity to become the Chef De Cuisine at Sherwood Inn. Born and raised in Muskoka, Michael brings the feel and touch of the area into his menus using fresh and local ingredients.

WINE CELLAR
 

We are justifiably proud of our wine cellar that boasts more than 2,000 bottles.  We have won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for our wine list, numerous years, which features in excess of 200 exquisite selections. We specialize in vintages from Australia, California, Italy and the Bordeaux region of France.

For a special treat, enjoy an intimate private party in our Cellar Dining Room, adjacent to the wine cellar. (Up to 14 people, reservation required. Private dining charges apply). Our chef and food and beverage team excel at planning, preparing and serving customized multiple-course food and wine pairings.

It is the perfect choice for Muskoka fine dining and team building for executive teams, dinner for your key employees or a great social venue for a private gathering with your closest friends or family.

Our Cellar Dining Room, an intimate space adjacent to our wine cellar, is available for private functions up to 14 people.
