Us: Why did you opt for an “off-season” wedding?

CVK: When you work in the “industry” trying to get married on a beautiful fall day isn’t always in the cards. We got engaged December 2010, knew we didn’t want to wait too long, and by end of January 2011 we knew April 30th at Sherwood Inn was for us!

Us: Did you always want to be married at Sherwood Inn?

CVK: My initial thought was, NO.  Too cliché.  It is where I work, and where I met my now husband.  But after what felt like a lengthy search spanning from Windsor to Woodstock, we thought what a better way to share Muskoka with our family and friends than right here at Sherwood Inn.

Us: Did you have any concerns about getting married in April?

CVK:  To be honest, not really.  I had been in Muskoka for almost 10 years, and by then I understood the ups and downs of spring in Muskoka.  Getting married in April also meant off season pricing making it more affordable for family + friends to join us.

Us: Do you remember what the weather was like that weekend?

CVK: I do!  It was cool and rainy all week!  When we woke up on Saturday the sun was shining - although the Pointe was too mucky for a ceremony, so we got married inside.  It was okay!  We had all our photos outside, and during cocktails our guests got to enjoy the outdoors as well.

Us: Any advice for couples that may be considering an off-season wedding?

CVK:  Just do it!  It is so worth it!  There are so many benefits; Muskoka is quieter, the Lake is quiet, over the years we have learned that there are not only 2 options for a Ceremony (the Point or indoors).  We can host weddings on our Veranda Deck or in our Garden as well!  It is more economical for accommodations, venue fees, etc.  In fact, right now Sherwood Inn has an amazing off-season wedding package, so if you were at all curious about getting married in the Winter or Spring, let this be your sign!

The excitement of sports always reminds me how much we enjoy unpredictability in life. That’s the same feeling I noticed with Jokery Casino, where every spin has that element of surprise, like a last-minute goal or a sudden plot twist in a movie.😍

One night, I was bored and clicked on online lucky jet game. I swear, I didn’t expect much, but by the third round I was already laughing at myself for falling into the trap. In Kenya, you rarely find a game that’s so light but still makes your heart pound. The whole idea of holding on for “just one more second” is evil, but in the funniest way. Even when I lose, I keep coming back because I want to outsmart the damn jet.

I’ve used royalwriter.co.uk a couple of times when my workload just piled up too high. What stood out for me was how clear the communication was—I could message the writer directly and explain details. The essay came back well-structured and referenced properly, so it didn’t feel rushed or generic. It’s not a service I’d use all the time, but when deadlines are too close for comfort, it’s honestly been a lifesaver.
