We’re thrilled to share a special Q&A with someone who knows Sherwood Inn weddings inside and out - both professionally, and personally! Christina, our talented Conference Services Manager has helped countless couples plan their dream day here on the shores of Lake Joseph. But what makes her story even more special? She also chose Sherwood Inn for her very own wedding!
In this interview, Christina shares her unique perspective, insider tips, and why this Muskoka gem holds such a meaningful place in her heart. Let’s dive in!

Us: Why did you opt for an “off-season” wedding?
CVK: When you work in the “industry” trying to get married on a beautiful fall day isn’t always in the cards. We got engaged December 2010, knew we didn’t want to wait too long, and by end of January 2011 we knew April 30th at Sherwood Inn was for us!
Us: Did you always want to be married at Sherwood Inn?
CVK: My initial thought was, NO. Too cliché. It is where I work, and where I met my now husband. But after what felt like a lengthy search spanning from Windsor to Woodstock, we thought what a better way to share Muskoka with our family and friends than right here at Sherwood Inn.

Us: Did you have any concerns about getting married in April?
CVK: To be honest, not really. I had been in Muskoka for almost 10 years, and by then I understood the ups and downs of spring in Muskoka. Getting married in April also meant off season pricing making it more affordable for family + friends to join us.
Us: Do you remember what the weather was like that weekend?
CVK: I do! It was cool and rainy all week! When we woke up on Saturday the sun was shining - although the Pointe was too mucky for a ceremony, so we got married inside. It was okay! We had all our photos outside, and during cocktails our guests got to enjoy the outdoors as well.

Us: Any advice for couples that may be considering an off-season wedding?
CVK: Just do it! It is so worth it! There are so many benefits; Muskoka is quieter, the Lake is quiet, over the years we have learned that there are not only 2 options for a Ceremony (the Point or indoors). We can host weddings on our Veranda Deck or in our Garden as well! It is more economical for accommodations, venue fees, etc. In fact, right now Sherwood Inn has an amazing off-season wedding package, so if you were at all curious about getting married in the Winter or Spring, let this be your sign!

What a wonderful introduction to Christina! Having an experienced wedding expert can make such a big difference in creating a memorable celebration. I found this while taking a break from Golf Hit, and it was a delightful read.
This website exceeded my expectations thanks to its reliable information and wide range of interesting topics. Everything is presented in a clear and professional manner, making it enjoyable to explore different sections. I found Alexandros Library especially valuable because it gathers educational materials and fascinating historical knowledge in one place. The story of the ancient Library of Alexandria continues to inspire people around the world as a symbol of learning and discovery. In the same way, this website offers verified, high-quality content that is informative, engaging, and worth recommending to anyone who enjoys expanding their knowledge.
This is honestly one of those “only in weddings” stories that feels both super wholesome and slightly chaotic in the best way
I can totally imagine the logic here: you work in a place like Sherwood Inn long enough, see hundreds of perfect lakefront weddings, and at some point your brain just goes:“Okay… why am I trying to outdo this elsewhere when I literally work in the dream spot already?”
The off-season April wedding is also a very underrated move. Fewer crowds, more calm, and probably a better chance that the lake behaves itself instead of doing dramatic “stormy romance movie” things for photos.
And honestly, the funniest part is the “I thought it was too obvious” phase. That’s such…
Playing Escape Road 3 after a long day is oddly relaxing, even though the gameplay itself can get intense and requires quick thinking.
